5 Now David’s two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. 6 David was greatly distressed, for the people talked of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit, each over his sons and daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Please bring the ephod to me.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

5 David’s two wives(A) had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning(B) him; each one was bitter(C) in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength(D) in the Lord his God.
7 Then David said to Abiathar(E) the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.(F)” Abiathar brought it to him,
