1 Samuel 8:7-9
1599 Geneva Bible
7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hear the voice of the people in all that they shall say unto thee: for they have not cast thee away, but they have cast me away, that I should not reign over them.
8 As they have ever done since I brought them out of Egypt even unto this day, (and have forsaken me, and served other gods) even so do they unto thee.
9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit, yet [a]testify unto them, and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

New International Version
7 And the Lord told him: “Listen(A) to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected,(B) but they have rejected me as their king.(C) 8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking(D) me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know(E) what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
