20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And [a]for whom is all that is desirable in Israel? Is it not for thee, and for all thy father’s house? 21 And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the [b]tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou to me after this manner?

22 And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the guest-chamber, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, who were about thirty persons.

21 Saul answered, “But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe(C) of Israel, and is not my clan the least(D) of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin?(E) Why do you say such a thing to me?”

22 Then Samuel brought Saul and his servant into the hall and seated them at the head of those who were invited—about thirty in number.
