1 Thessalonians 2:16-18

16 (A)hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles (B)so that they may be saved; with the result that they always [a](C)reach the limit of their sins. But (D)wrath has come upon them [b]fully.
17 But we, brothers and sisters, having been orphaned from you by absence for a [c]short while—(E)in [d]person, not in [e]spirit—were all the more eager with great desire (F)to see your face. 18 [f]For (G)we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, [g](H)more than once—and (I)Satan (J)hindered us.

New International Version
16 in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles(A) so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit.(B) The wrath of God has come upon them at last.[a]
Paul’s Longing to See the Thessalonians
17 But, brothers and sisters, when we were orphaned by being separated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought),(C) out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you.(D) 18 For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan(E) blocked our way.(F)
