7 But we [a]proved to be [b](A)gentle [c]among you, (B)as a nursing mother [d]tenderly cares for her own children. 8 In this way, having fond affection for you, we were pleased to (C)impart to you not only the (D)gospel of God but also our own [e]lives, because you had become beloved to us.
9 For you remember, brothers, our (E)labor and hardship, how (F)working night and day so as not to be a (G)burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the (H)gospel of God.

Just as a nursing mother cares for her children,(A) 8 so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God(B) but our lives as well.(C) 9 Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked(D) night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone(E) while we preached the gospel of God to you.
