8 (C)Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued,[a] (D)not addicted to much wine, (E)not greedy for dishonest gain. 9 They must (F)hold the mystery of the faith with (G)a clear conscience.

8 In the same way, deacons[a](C) are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine,(D) and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.(E)
