13 At the same time, they also learn to be lazy as they go about from house to house. They not only learn to be lazy, but also to be gossips and busybodies, saying things that they should not say. 14 Therefore I want younger widows[a] to marry, to have children, to keep house, and to give no opportunity for the enemy to slander them. 15 In fact, some have already turned away to follow Satan.

13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies(A) who talk nonsense,(B) saying things they ought not to. 14 So I counsel younger widows to marry,(C) to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.(D) 15 Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan.(E)
