13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate(A) made the good confession,(B) I charge you(C) 14 to keep this command without spot or blame(D) until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,(E) 15 which God will bring about in his own time(F)—God, the blessed(G) and only Ruler,(H) the King of kings and Lord of lords,(I) 16 who alone is immortal(J) and who lives in unapproachable light,(K) whom no one has seen or can see.(L) To him be honor and might forever. Amen.(M)

17 Command those who are rich(N) in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth,(O) which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God,(P) who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.(Q) 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds,(R) and to be generous and willing to share.(S) 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves(T) as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of(U) the life that is truly life.

20 Timothy, guard what has been entrusted(V) to your care. Turn away from godless chatter(W) and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, 21 which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith.(X)

Grace be with you all.(Y)

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
