³ We recall, in the presence of our God and Father,^(A) your work of faith,^(B) labor of love, and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ,^(C)

³ Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.^(A) According to His great mercy,^(B) He has given us a new birth^(C) into a living hope^(D) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead^(E)

A Call to Holy Living

¹³ Therefore, with your minds ready for action,^[a](A) be serious^(B) and set your hope^(C) completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation^(D) of Jesus Christ.
