²² If anyone does not love the Lord, he is to be ^[a](A)accursed. ^[b](B)Maranatha!

^8 (A)You too be patient; ^(B)strengthen your hearts, for ^(C)the coming of the Lord is ^(D)near. ^9 (E)Do not ^[a]complain, ^(F)brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, ^(G)the Judge is standing ^[b](H)right at the ^[c]door. ¹⁰ As an example, ^(I)brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take ^(J)the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ¹¹ We count those ^(K)blessed who endured. You have heard of ^(L)the ^[d]endurance of Job and have seen ^(M)the ^[e]outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that ^(N)the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

¹² But above all, ^(O)my brothers and sisters, ^(P)do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but ^[f]your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you do not fall under judgment.

¹³ Is anyone among you ^(Q)suffering? ^(R)Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to ^(S)sing praises. ¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for ^(T)the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, ^[g](U)anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; ¹⁵ and the ^(V)prayer of faith will ^[h](W)restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will ^(X)raise him up, and if he has committed sins, ^[i]they will be forgiven him. ¹⁶ Therefore, ^(Y)confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be ^(Z)healed. ^(AA)A ^[j]prayer of a righteous person, when it is ^[k]brought about, can accomplish much. ¹⁷ Elijah was ^(AB)a man with a nature like ours, and ^(AC)he prayed ^[l]earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for ^(AD)three years and six months. ¹⁸ Then he ^(AE)prayed again, and ^(AF)the sky ^[m]poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.

¹⁹ My brothers and sisters, ^(AG)if anyone among you strays from ^(AH)the truth and someone turns him back, ²⁰ let him know that the one who has turned a sinner from the error of his way will ^(AI)save his soul from death and ^(AJ)cover a multitude of sins.
