²⁹ This is what I mean, brothers and sisters: The time is limited,^(A) so from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none,

¹¹ These things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our instruction,^(A) on whom the ends of the ages^[a](B) have come.^(C)

⁸ You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.^(A)

End-Time Ethics

⁷ The end of all things is near;^(A) therefore, be alert and sober-minded^(B) for prayer.

⁹ The Lord does not delay his promise,^(A) as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any^(B) to perish^(C) but all to come to repentance.^(D)

¹¹ Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness

The Last Hour

¹⁸ Children, it is the last hour.^(A) And as you have heard that antichrist^(B) is coming, even now many antichrists have come. By this we know that it is the last hour.

³ Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy,^(A) and blessed are those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep^[a] what is written in it, because the time is near.

¹⁰ Then he said to me, “Don’t seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.^(A)
