I have written to you, children, because ^(D)you know the Father. ¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him ^(E)who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are ^(F)strong, and the ^(G)word of God remains in you, and ^(H)you have overcome the evil one.

⁴ For ^[a]whoever has been ^(A)born of God ^(B)overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.

Overcoming the World

5 ^(A)Everyone who believes that Jesus is the ^[a]Christ has been ^(B)born of God, and everyone who loves the ^[b]Father ^(C)loves the child born of Him.
