¹⁸ Children, ^(A)it is the last hour; and just as you heard that ^(B)antichrist is coming, ^(C)even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. ^19 (D)They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, ^(E)so that ^[a]it would be evident that they all are not of us.

²² for false christs and ^(A)false prophets will arise, and will provide ^(B)signs and ^(C)wonders, in order to mislead, if possible, the elect.

⁷ For ^(A)many deceivers have ^(B)gone out into the world, those who ^(C)do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is ^(D)the deceiver and the ^(E)antichrist.

³ and every spirit that ^(A)does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the ^(B)antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and ^(C)now it is already in the world.

²² Who is the liar except ^(A)the one who denies that Jesus is the ^[a]Christ? This is ^(B)the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

¹⁷ and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the ^(A)mark, either ^(B)the name of the beast or ^(C)the number of his name. ^18 (D)Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that ^(E)of a ^[a]man; and his number is ^[b]six hundred and sixty-six.
