²² Who is the liar except ^(A)the one who denies that Jesus is the ^[a]Christ? This is ^(B)the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. ^23 (C)Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. ²⁴ As for you, see that what you heard ^(D)from the beginning remains in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also ^(E)will remain in the Son and in the Father.

The Promise Is Eternal Life

^25 (F)This is the promise which He Himself ^[b]made to us: eternal life.

²⁶ These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to ^(G)deceive you. ²⁷ And as for you, the ^(H)anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing ^(I)teaches you about all things, and is ^(J)true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, ^[c]you remain in Him.

²⁸ Now, ^(K)little children, remain in Him, so that when He ^(L)appears, we may have ^(M)confidence and ^(N)not ^[d]draw back from Him in shame ^[e]at His ^(O)coming. ²⁹ If you know that ^(P)He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also ^(Q)has been born of Him.

² By this you know the Spirit of God: ^(A)every spirit that ^(B)confesses that ^(C)Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;

^15 (A)Whoever confesses that ^(B)Jesus is the Son of God, God ^(C)remains in him, and he in God.
