³⁶ Yet to his son I will give ^[a]one tribe, so that My servant David may have a ^[b]lamp always before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen to put My Name and Presence.

⁴ Nevertheless, for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a lamp (descendant on the throne) in Jerusalem, setting up his son after him and establishing Jerusalem,

⁷ Yet the Lord would not destroy the house of David because of the covenant which He had made with David, and because He had promised to give a ^[a]lamp to him and to his sons forever.^(A)
