³⁶ But ^(A)to his son I will give one tribe, ^(B)so that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, ^(C)the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.

⁴ But for David’s sake the Lord his God gave him a ^(A)lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem,

¹⁹ However, the Lord did not want to destroy Judah, for the sake of David His servant, ^(A)since He had ^[a]promised him to give him a ^[b]lamp through his sons always.

⁷ Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David because of the covenant which He had made with David, ^(A)and because He had promised to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.
