³ “Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is ^[a]east of the Jordan.

⁴ for ^(A)when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave, and ^(B)provided them with bread and water.)

^10 (A)As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom to which my master has not sent word to search for you; and whenever they say, ‘He is not here,’ he makes the kingdom or nation swear that they could not find you.

²⁰ Indeed, there was also a man who used to prophesy in the name of the Lord, Uriah the son of Shemaiah from ^(A)Kiriath-jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land words similar to all those of Jeremiah. ²¹ When King Jehoiakim and all his warriors and all the officials heard his words, then the ^(B)king sought to put him to death; but Uriah heard about it, and he was afraid, so he ^(C)fled and went to Egypt. ²² Then King Jehoiakim sent men to Egypt: ^(D)Elnathan the son of Achbor and certain men with him, to Egypt. ²³ And they brought Uriah from Egypt and led him to King Jehoiakim, who ^(E)killed him with a sword and threw his dead body into the ^[a]burial place of the ^[b]common people.

²⁴ But the hand of ^(F)Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, so that he was ^(G)not handed over to the people to put him to death.

²⁶ And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king’s son, Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel to ^(A)seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but the ^(B)Lord hid them.
