¹⁶ You shall also anoint ^(A)Jehu the son of Nimshi king over Israel; and you shall anoint ^(B)Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah as prophet in your place. ¹⁷ And it shall come about that the ^(C)one who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu ^(D)shall put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha shall put to death.

Jehu Assassinates Jehoram (Joram)

¹⁴ So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. ^(A)Now Joram ^[a]with all Israel was ^[b]defending Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Aram,

²⁰ And the watchman ^[a]reported, “He came up to them, but he did not return; and ^(A)the ^[b]driving is like the driving of ^(B)Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”
