²⁹ “Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? I will not bring the disaster during his lifetime,^(A) because he has humbled himself before Me. I will bring the disaster on his house during his son’s lifetime.”^(B)

⁶ So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “Yahweh is righteous.”^(A)

⁷ When the Lord saw that they had humbled themselves, the Lord’s message came to Shemaiah: “They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them but will grant them a little deliverance.^(B) My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.^(C)

²⁶ Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart—he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem—so the Lord’s wrath didn’t come^(A) on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.^(B)
