Solomon Prepares to Build the Temple^(A)

5 Now ^(B)Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, because he heard that they had anointed him king in place of his father, ^(C)for Hiram had always loved David.

^11 (A)(Hiram the king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress and gold, as much as he desired), that King Solomon then gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. ¹² Then Hiram went from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, but they did not please him. ¹³ So he said, “What kind of cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” ^(B)And he called them the land of ^[a]Cabul, as they are to this day. ¹⁴ Then Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.

²² all the kings of ^(A)Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the ^(B)sea;

²¹ “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago ^(A)in sackcloth and ashes.
