¹³ As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘^(A)Out of the wicked comes wickedness’; but my hand shall not be against you.

²² “Son of man, what is this ^(A)proverb you people have about the land of Israel, saying, ‘The ^(B)days are long, and every ^(C)vision fails’? ²³ Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “I will put an end to this proverb so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel.” But tell them, “^(D)The days are approaching as well as the ^[a]fulfillment of every vision.

² “^(A)What do you people mean by using this proverb about the land of Israel, saying,

³ As I live,” declares the Lord ^[b]God, “you certainly are not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore.
