1 Corinthians 14:16-17

16 For otherwise, if you bless God [a]in the spirit only, how will the one who occupies the place of the [b]outsider know to say (A)the “Amen” at your (B)giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you are saying? 17 For you are giving thanks well enough, but the other person is not (C)edified.

16 Otherwise when you are praising God in the Spirit, how can someone else, who is now put in the position of an inquirer,[a] say “Amen”(A) to your thanksgiving,(B) since they do not know what you are saying? 17 You are giving thanks well enough, but no one else is edified.(C)
