¹⁰He ruled for forty-one years in Jerusalem. His grandmother^[a] was Maacah daughter of Abishalom.

1 Kings 15:10 tn Heb “mother,” but Hebrew often uses the terms “father” and “mother” for grandparents and more remote ancestors.

¹⁰and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. His grandmother’s name was Maakah^(A) daughter of Abishalom.

¹⁰And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
