⁵ you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house^[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives among you?

⁴ He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshipped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, ‘Is it not written in your Law, “I have said you are ‘gods’”^[a]? ³⁵ If he called them “gods”, to whom the word of God came – and Scripture cannot be set aside –

⁶ Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba,^[a] Father.’

²⁶ So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,

⁴ for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

⁶ Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit^[a] gives birth to spirit.
