5 The real widow, who is all alone, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.(A) 6 But the one who is self-indulgent is dead while she lives. 7 Command this, so that they may be irreproachable. 8 And whoever does not provide for relatives and especially family members has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

5 The widow who is really in need(A) and left all alone puts her hope in God(B) and continues night and day to pray(C) and to ask God for help. 6 But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.(D) 7 Give the people these instructions,(E) so that no one may be open to blame. 8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied(F) the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
