15 So the king did not listen to the people, because it was a turn of affairs brought about by God so that the Lord might fulfill his word, which he had spoken by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.
16 When all Israel saw that the king would not listen to them, the people answered the king,
“What share do we have in David?
We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse.
Each of you to your tents, O Israel!
Look now to your own house, O David.”
So all Israel departed to their tents. 17 But Rehoboam reigned over the people of Israel who were living in the cities of Judah.

15 So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God,(A) to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.(B)
16 When all Israel(C) saw that the king refused to listen to them, they answered the king:
“What share do we have in David,(D)
what part in Jesse’s son?
To your tents, Israel!
Look after your own house, David!”
So all the Israelites went home. 17 But as for the Israelites who were living in the towns of Judah, Rehoboam still ruled over them.
