And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves, therefore I will not destroy them, but I will send them deliverance shortly, and my wrath shall not [a]be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

Nevertheless they shall be his servants: so shall they know my [b]service, and the service of the kingdoms of the earth.

¶ Then Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the King’s house: he took even all, and he carried away the shields of gold, (A)which Solomon had made.

When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah: “Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them but will soon give them deliverance.(A) My wrath(B) will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak. They will, however, become subject(C) to him, so that they may learn the difference between serving me and serving the kings of other lands.”

When Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem, he carried off the treasures of the temple of the Lord and the treasures of the royal palace. He took everything, including the gold shields(D) Solomon had made.
