2 Chronicles 13:6-8

6 Yet (A)Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his [a]master, 7 and worthless men gathered about him, scoundrels, who proved too strong for Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, when [b](B)he was young and timid and could not hold his own against them.
8 “So now you intend to resist the kingdom of the Lord [c]through the sons of David, [d]being a great multitude and having with you (C)the golden calves which Jeroboam made for gods for you.

New International Version
6 Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, an official of Solomon son of David, rebelled(A) against his master. 7 Some worthless scoundrels(B) gathered around him and opposed Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young and indecisive(C) and not strong enough to resist them.
8 “And now you plan to resist the kingdom of the Lord, which is in the hands of David’s descendants.(D) You are indeed a vast army and have with you(E) the golden calves(F) that Jeroboam made to be your gods.
