12 So the Lord struck the Cushites before Asa and Judah, and the Cushites fled. 13 Asa and his troops chased them as far as Gerar. The Cushites fell until there were no survivors. They were completely crushed by the Lord and his army, who carried off a huge amount of loot, 14 and attacked all the cities surrounding Gerar who were terrified of the Lord. They plundered all these cities as well because there was a great amount of loot in them.

12 The Lord struck down(A) the Cushites before Asa and Judah. The Cushites fled, 13 and Asa and his army pursued them as far as Gerar.(B) Such a great number of Cushites fell that they could not recover; they were crushed(C) before the Lord and his forces. The men of Judah carried off a large amount of plunder.(D) 14 They destroyed all the villages around Gerar, for the terror(E) of the Lord had fallen on them. They looted all these villages, since there was much plunder there.
