21 When he had spoken with the people, he called those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy clothing. They went out in front of the army and said, “Give thanks to the Lord. For His loving-kindness lasts forever.” 22 When they began to sing and praise, the Lord set traps against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah. So they were destroyed. 23 The men of Ammon and Moab fought against the people of Mount Seir, and killed all of them. And when they finished with the people of Seir, they all helped to kill each other.

21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his[a] holiness(A) as they went out at the head of the army, saying:

“Give thanks to the Lord,
    for his love endures forever.”(B)

22 As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes(C) against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. 23 The Ammonites(D) and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir(E) to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.(F)
