9 ‘If evil comes upon us, the sword, judgment,[a] or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house, and before thee, for thy name is in this house, and cry to thee in our affliction, and thou wilt hear and save.’ 10 And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Se′ir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy— 11 behold, they reward us by coming to drive us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

9 ‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine,(A) we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’
10 “But now here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, whose territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they came from Egypt;(B) so they turned away from them and did not destroy them. 11 See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession(C) you gave us as an inheritance.
