18 After all these things, the Lord afflicted him in his intestines with an incurable disease. 19 This continued day after day until two full years passed. Then his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died from severe[a] illnesses. But his people did not hold a fire in his honor like the fire in honor of his predecessors.(A)

20 Jehoram(B) was thirty-two years old when he became king; he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. He died to no one’s regret[b](C) and was buried in the city of David but not in the tombs of the kings.(D)

18 After all this, the Lord afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels. 19 In the course of time, at the end of the second year, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great pain. His people made no funeral fire in his honor,(A) as they had for his predecessors.

20 Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He passed away, to no one’s regret, and was buried(B) in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
