(A)Then he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And [a]Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

His going to Joram (B)was God’s occasion for Ahaziah’s [b]downfall; for when he arrived, (C)he went out with [c]Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, (D)whom the Lord had anointed to [d]cut off the house of Ahab. And it happened, when Jehu was (E)executing judgment on the house of Ahab, and (F)found the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s brothers who served Ahaziah, that he killed them.

Then Ahaziah[b] son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to Jezreel to see Joram son of Ahab because he had been wounded.

Through Ahaziah’s(B) visit to Joram, God brought about Ahaziah’s downfall. When Ahaziah arrived, he went out with Joram to meet Jehu son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab. While Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab,(C) he found the officials of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s relatives, who had been attending Ahaziah, and he killed them.
