2 Chronicles 25:2-4
Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition
2 And he did what was good in the sight of the Lord: but yet not with a perfect heart.
3 And when he saw himself strengthened in his kingdom, he put to death the servants that had slain the king his father.
4 But he slew not their children, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, where the Lord commanded, saying: The fathers shall not be slain for the children, nor the children for their fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

New International Version
2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not wholeheartedly.(A) 3 After the kingdom was firmly in his control, he executed the officials who had murdered his father the king. 4 Yet he did not put their children to death, but acted in accordance with what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses,(B) where the Lord commanded: “Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor children be put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.”[a](C)
