2 Chronicles 25:2-4
New English Translation
2 He did what the Lord approved,[a] but not with wholehearted devotion.[b]
3 When he had secured control of the kingdom,[c] he executed the servants who had assassinated his father the king. 4 However, he did not execute their sons. He obeyed the Lord’s commandment as recorded in the law scroll of Moses,[d] “Fathers must not be executed for what their sons do,[e] and sons must not be executed for what their fathers do.[f] A man must be executed only for his own sin.”[g]

New International Version
2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not wholeheartedly.(A) 3 After the kingdom was firmly in his control, he executed the officials who had murdered his father the king. 4 Yet he did not put their children to death, but acted in accordance with what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses,(B) where the Lord commanded: “Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor children be put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.”[a](C)
