19 They spoke about the Elohim of Jerusalem as if he were one of the gods made by human hands and worshiped by the people in other countries.

20 Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz, prayed about this and called to heaven. 21 Yahweh sent an angel who exterminated all the soldiers, officials, and commanders in the Assyrian king’s camp. Humiliated, Sennacherib returned to his own country. When he went into the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him with a sword.

19 They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world—the work of human hands.(A)

20 King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer(B) to heaven about this. 21 And the Lord sent an angel,(C) who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.(D)
