23 And (A)many were bringing gifts to the Lord at Jerusalem and choice presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that (B)he was exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter.

24 (C)In those days Hezekiah became [a]mortally ill; and he prayed to the Lord, and [b]the Lord spoke to him and gave him a sign. 25 But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit [c]he received, (D)because his heart was [d]proud; (E)therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.

23 Many brought offerings to Jerusalem for the Lord and valuable gifts(A) for Hezekiah king of Judah. From then on he was highly regarded by all the nations.

Hezekiah’s Pride, Success and Death(B)

24 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. He prayed to the Lord, who answered him and gave him a miraculous sign.(C) 25 But Hezekiah’s heart was proud(D) and he did not respond to the kindness shown him; therefore the Lord’s wrath(E) was on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
