12 When (A)he was in distress, he entreated the Lord his God and (B)humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. 13 When he prayed to Him, (C)He was moved by his entreaty and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh (D)knew that the Lord was God.

14 Now after this he built the outer wall of the city of David on the west side of (E)Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance of the (F)Fish Gate; and he encircled the (G)Ophel with it and made it very high. Then he put army commanders in all the fortified cities of Judah.

12 In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled(A) himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. 13 And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

14 Afterward he rebuilt the outer wall of the City of David, west of the Gihon(B) spring in the valley, as far as the entrance of the Fish Gate(C) and encircling the hill of Ophel;(D) he also made it much higher. He stationed military commanders in all the fortified cities in Judah.
