¹⁵ Yet the Lord, the God of their fathers, ^(A)sent word to them again and again by His messengers, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place; ¹⁶ but they continually ^(B)mocked the messengers of God, ^(C)despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, ^(D)until the wrath of the Lord rose against His people, until there was no remedy.

¹³ And now, because you have done all these things,” declares the Lord, “and I spoke to you, ^(A)speaking again and again, but you did not listen, and I ^(B)called you but you did not answer,

³ “From the ^(A)thirteenth year of ^(B)Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, ^[a]these ^(C)twenty-three years the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken to you ^(D)again and again, but you have not listened.

⁵ to listen to the words of ^(A)My servants the prophets, whom I have been sending to you again and again, but you have not listened;

Then you will ^(D)live in the land which I have given to you and to your forefathers; but you have not ^(E)inclined your ear or listened to Me.
