Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; but his reign was an evil one. Finally Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon conquered Jerusalem and took away the king in chains to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar also took some of the gold bowls and other items from the Temple, placing them in his own temple in Babylon.

Jehoiakim King of Judah(A)

Jehoiakim(B) was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord his God. Nebuchadnezzar(C) king of Babylon attacked him and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.(D) Nebuchadnezzar also took to Babylon articles from the temple of the Lord and put them in his temple[a] there.(E)
