¹⁹ “^(A)But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,

¹⁹ It shall come about ^(A)when ^[a]they say, ‘Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ then you shall say to them, ‘As you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will ^(B)serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

⁹ Then they will ^[a]answer, ‘Because they ^(A)forsook the covenant of the Lord their God and bowed down to other gods and served them.’”
