2 Corinthians 2:2-4
1599 Geneva Bible
2 For if I make you sorry, who is he then that should make me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
3 And I wrote this same thing unto you, lest when I came, I should take heaviness of them of whom I ought to rejoice: this [a]confidence have I in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
4 For in great affliction, and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears: not that ye should be made sorry, but that ye might perceive the love which I have, specially unto you.

2 Corinthians 2:2-4
New International Version
2 For if I grieve you,(A) who is left to make me glad but you whom I have grieved? 3 I wrote as I did,(B) so that when I came I would not be distressed(C) by those who should have made me rejoice. I had confidence(D) in all of you, that you would all share my joy. 4 For I wrote you(E) out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you.
