³² In those days the ^(A)Lord began to cut off portions ^[a]from Israel; and ^(B)Hazael ^[b]defeated them throughout the territory of Israel: ³³ from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites and the Reubenites and the Manassites, from ^(C)Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even ^(D)Gilead and Bashan.

¹⁷ Then ^(A)Hazael king of Aram went up and fought against Gath and captured it, and ^(B)Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

^3 (A)So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and He gave them continually into the hand of ^(B)Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of ^(C)Ben-hadad the son of Hazael.

⁷ For he left to Jehoahaz of the ^[a]army not more than fifty horsemen and ten chariots and 10,000 footmen, for the king of Aram had destroyed them and ^(A)made them like the dust at threshing.
