18 Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground,” and he struck it three times and stood still. 19 So (A)the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck five or six times, then you would have struck Aram until you would have consumed it. But now you shall strike Aram (B)only three times.”
20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. Now (C)the marauding bands of the Moabites would enter into the land in the spring of the year.

New International Version
18 Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and the king took them. Elisha told him, “Strike the ground.” He struck it three times and stopped. 19 The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.”(A)
20 Elisha died and was buried.
Now Moabite raiders(B) used to enter the country every spring.
