6 Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, wherewith he made Israel to sin, but [a]walked therein: and there remained the Asherah also in Samaria.) 7 For he left not to Jehoahaz of the people save fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them, and made them like the dust [b]in threshing. 8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6 But they did not turn away from the sins(A) of the house of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit; they continued in them. Also, the Asherah pole[a](B) remained standing in Samaria.
7 Nothing had been left(C) of the army of Jehoahaz except fifty horsemen, ten chariots and ten thousand foot soldiers, for the king of Aram had destroyed the rest and made them like the dust(D) at threshing time.
8 As for the other events of the reign of Jehoahaz, all he did and his achievements, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?
