18 and the rest of his biography is recorded in The Annals of the Kings of Judah. 19 There was a plot against his life in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish; but his enemies sent assassins and killed him there. 20 His body was returned on horses, and he was buried in the royal cemetery, in the City of David section of Jerusalem.

New International Version
18 As for the other events of Amaziah’s reign, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
19 They conspired(A) against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish,(B) but they sent men after him to Lachish and killed him there. 20 He was brought back by horse(C) and was buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors, in the City of David.
