19 They conspired against him in Jerusalem, so he fled to Lachish. But they sent men after him to Lachish, and they killed him there. 20 Then they carried him on the horses, and he was buried with his ancestors[a] in the city of David. 21 All of the people of Judah took sixteen-year-old Azariah and made him king in place of this father Amaziah.

19 They conspired(A) against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish,(B) but they sent men after him to Lachish and killed him there. 20 He was brought back by horse(C) and was buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors, in the City of David.
21 Then all the people of Judah took Azariah,[a](D) who was sixteen years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.
