28 He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight. He did not turn away from the sins Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
29 In the days of King Pekah of Israel, King Tiglath-pileser(A) of Assyria came and captured Ijon,(B) Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee—all the land of Naphtali(C)—and deported the people to Assyria.(D)
30 Then Hoshea(E) son of Elah organized a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked him, killed him,(F) and became king in his place in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.

28 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
29 In the time of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser(A) king of Assyria came and took Ijon,(B) Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh and Hazor. He took Gilead and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali,(C) and deported(D) the people to Assyria. 30 Then Hoshea(E) son of Elah conspired against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked and assassinated(F) him, and then succeeded him as king in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
