2 Kings 16:8-10

8 (A)Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and sent a present to the king of Assyria. 9 (B)So the king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and (C)captured it, and carried the people of it away into exile to (D)Kir, and put Rezin to death.
Damascus Falls
10 Now King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet (E)Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar which was at Damascus; and King Ahaz sent to (F)Urijah the priest the [a]pattern of the altar and its model, according to all its workmanship.

New International Version
8 And Ahaz took the silver and gold found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as a gift(A) to the king of Assyria. 9 The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus(B) and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir(C) and put Rezin to death.
10 Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He saw an altar in Damascus and sent to Uriah(D) the priest a sketch of the altar, with detailed plans for its construction.
