Then Ahaz took the silver and gold that were[a] in the Lord’s temple and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as tribute[b] to the king of Assyria. The king of Assyria responded favorably to his request;[c] he[d] attacked Damascus and captured it. He deported the people[e] to Kir and executed Rezin.

10 When King Ahaz went to meet with King Tiglath-Pileser of Assyria in Damascus, he saw the altar there.[f] King Ahaz sent to Uriah the priest a drawing of the altar and a blueprint for its design.[g]

And Ahaz took the silver and gold found in the temple of the Lord and in the treasuries of the royal palace and sent it as a gift(A) to the king of Assyria. The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus(B) and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir(C) and put Rezin to death.

10 Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He saw an altar in Damascus and sent to Uriah(D) the priest a sketch of the altar, with detailed plans for its construction.
